Small moves in Ottawa
Studios, one bedrooms, student moves and single items. The jobs the big moving companies turn down for being too small.
What we move
- Studio and one bedroom apartments. This is the job we do most.
- Student moves. uOttawa, Carleton and Algonquin, including residence move in and move out.
- Single rooms and partial moves. One bedroom's contents, an office, a basement.
- Storage runs. Moving into or out of a storage unit.
- Single heavy items. A sofa, a dresser, a treadmill, a safe.
- Marketplace and Kijiji pickups. You bought it, we collect it and bring it home.
What is included
- Moving blankets, straps, dollies and shrink wrap
- Taking beds and simple furniture apart and putting them back together
- Placing everything in the room you want, not stopping at the door
- A written bill of lading before we load
Book month end early
Ottawa moves bunch up between the 25th and the 1st, and the first weekend of September is the busiest of the year. If your date falls in that window, call two or three weeks ahead. Those slots go first.
Common questions
Is there a travel or fuel charge?
Not inside Ottawa. The clock starts when we arrive and stops when we are done. For moves outside the city we quote the travel separately before you book.
What if it takes longer than quoted?
We bill by the half hour after the three hour minimum, so you only pay for the time used. If we think your job will run long we say so on the phone rather than surprise you on the day.
Do you move pianos or safes?
Upright pianos and small safes, yes. Tell us when you call so we bring the right equipment. For grand pianos we would point you to a specialist.
How do you protect my things?
Everything soft gets blanket wrapped and strapped, mattresses go in bags, and we shrink wrap drawers so they stay shut. If you have anything fragile or high value, tell us before the move so we can plan for it.
